Volunteer Opportunities

The initial mentor training offered by Threshold Passages is called Reclaiming Your Teenage Fire. It is not required to participate in Threshold Passages as a mentor, but it is highly recommended. The training is an opportunity for each man to get in touch with who he was as a teenager and perhaps to better understand any trauma experienced during that time. Each man has an opportunity to transform traumatic events into experiences that have personal value. These are a part of what made him the man he is today, and what may have positive aspects or led to good outcomes. During this process, each man will be able to decide to act in the world from the man that he is today - not the boy his was in the past. From this new place of healthier connection to his youth, each man is better able to develop supportive relationships with boys who need positive role models and examples of mature masculinity. This training has also proven valuable for men interested in becoming better fathers.

When	June 20-21, 2008 RYTF - Friday from 7:00pm-11:00pm RYTF - Saturday from 9:00am-4:00pm BBQ - Saturday 5:00pm-6:00pm ROCK - Saturday 6:30pm 'til we're done... This is non-residential. Other arrangements can be made with advanced notice. Please contact for details.
Where	TPI Center 1600 S. Pearl St. Denver, CO 80210 The site does have a full kitchen and dining facilities. SATURDAY LUNCH IS PROVIDED. BRING SOMETHING TO BURN FOR THE BBQ. Travel fees or airfare not included.

Our last training was lead by Mike Oliveira, Paul Drda, Bob Garbe and Eric Schmitzer. These men are leaders in our community, the Rites of Passage Adventure Weekend, and Mentors. Collin Irish & Edoardo Lippolis, Full Leaders in Boys to Men International, oversaw this awesome event. These guys ROCK!
